Is a wasteless home achievable when there’s kids in the house? Definitely!

Come and find out how to waste less, save money, and play more at our drop-in event for kids and their grown ups.

Here’s what you can expect from our first ever Wasteless Family Fair:

  • Face your fear of washable nappies with expert advice on getting started.

  • Give broken toys and tatty teddies a new lease of life at the Toy Hospital run by Repair Cafe Wales.

  • Find out how to make your own simple zero waste kit to cut down on single use items while out and about.

  • Be inspired by practical ideas for natural crafts and play.

  • Find out how Benthyg, Cardiff’s library of things, can save your family money.

  • Let the kids raid the toy area or enjoy a storytelling session while you have a cup of tea and some cake.

  • Win some zero waste goodies for your family.

  • Plus lots more to be confirmed.

Tickets for this event are FREE but please sign up if you want to attend as tickets are limited. You will be able to drop in at any point in the day from 10am - 2pm.

This new event is an exciting collaboration between Green City Events, Repair Cafe Wales, Rumney Forum and Benthyg.

Repair Cafe Wales opens, supports and runs Repair Cafes across Wales. Repair Cafes are places where you can get your broken household items fixed for free, learn new skills and help to reduce the waste that goes to landfill.

Rumney Forum are a resident led community organisation that exists to make Rumney an even better place to be. They are transforming the ground floor of the The Old library on Brachdy Road into a thriving community space for everyone to enjoy.

Benthyg is Cardiff's first library of things! A place where you can borrow things you need but don't own, and donate things you own but don't need, and a place where people meet to share knowledge and skills with their communities.
