Seedling Swap

Sowing seeds is so much fun; every year many of us end up with plenty of spare seedlings so here’s a chance to stop them going to waste and take home a treat for your garden. Our seedling swap events are a great chance to pick up urban gardening tips, share your skills and meet new green-fingered friends. 

How does it work?

Just bring along your extra seedlings in pots or containers that you don’t mind parting with. But don’t worry if you haven’t got any seedlings to swap, we will also take donations in exchange for seedlings too. 

Bute Park Nursery and Cardiff Salad garden will be our hosts this year so you will get the opportunity to peek behind the scenes of a local food growing social enterprise as well as purchase beautiful plants from the nursery. You can access the nursery area either through Bute Park education centre or look for the new direct entrance in the wall!

We will also be joined by Growing Street Talk, a project helping neighbours in Splott and Grangetown to get together to green their front gardens & streets. They will be sharing their knowledge and running a free growing activity.
